Senior School
As students transition into our Senior School for Grades 10-12, they are challenged to think creatively, follow their intellectual curiosity and use the enrichment opportunities available. Co-curriculars such as performing arts, band, athletics, clubs and service learning experiences combine to create an optimal environment for students to learn, lead and succeed. We want our students to develop a love of learning, a desire to succeed and respect and compassion for others throughout their lives as global citizens.
In Grade 10, students complete the MYP, culminating with a service learning based project. Students take the skills they have been taught through the MYP to inquire, research, take action and present their projects to the school community.
Students in Grades 11-12 will complete their IB education through the IB Diploma Programme (DP). Developed by the International Baccalaureate (IB), the DP aims to provide students with a well-rounded education that fosters critical thinking, independent learning, and a global perspective. It offers a challenging curriculum that includes six subject groups, a Theory of Knowledge course, an extended essay, and creativity, action, and service activities.
We are passionate about developing well-rounded students who are mindful of their overall wellbeing. Physical wellness is a key part of this and our Grade 10 continue Physical & Health Education classes as part of their curriculum. Many students in Grades 11 and 12 participate in school sports as a Southpointe Titan.
Southpointe prepares students for future success by helping them develop essential skills such as time management, research, communication, and problem-solving. It also encourages students to become responsible global citizens who can contribute positively to society.
